Sea World and Aquatica

Oh How I love Sea World!   I love the animals, the rides, the shows, the atmosphere, and everything about it!   Shamu is always breathtaking.   The water play area is always so fun and refreshing.   We also rode a few rides as a family which was fun too.   Cody got selected to be in the Sea Lion show and he hated it, but the kids and I loved it!   It was our first time to do Aquatica and it was AWESOME!   We had such a great time and played all day.  The kids even got to touch Sting Rays.   I sure love my family of 4 and I am so thankful for these memories.

The Wax Museum and Ripley's Believe it or Not

We were going to go to Goliad for the afternoon, but the kids were kind of "Historied Out" so they begged and begged to do the wax museum and Ripleys.  They were silly and stupid and lots of fun and we had a great time chasing the kids.    We also got some funny pictures.

The Alamo

Another thing Carley wanted to do was to take a real tour of the Alamo.  She loved it and really paid attention to the content.   She was so mature walking around and trying to wrap her brain around the details.  (and really cute as well)   Corey listened to his device the entire time and looked around.  I am not sure he really understood much, but he tried and was a great sport.  We were at the Alamo for over an hour and a half and both kids did exceptionally well.

Austin trip

Our family of 4 took a week long trip down to San Antonio and Austin.   Day 1 we drove to Austin.  I had this awesome idea to picnic along the way.  We did and it worked great...for about 3 minutes until the yellow jackets began swarming.  And we hightailed it to the car and ate as we drove.  We hit Austin in great time but got slowed down by traffic there.   First stop was the Texas Capital.   Carley had  been asking us to go and she wanted to take a real tour.  We did that and she loved it.  Corey did not enjoy it near as much, but was trooper.

She may be a history lover like her dad!   Also, Cody took the kids to the Volunteer Firefighter Memorial and showed the kids the name of his friend, David, who died with him in Idalou.   The kids were really sweet about it and made them even more proud of what their dad does.

Lastly we went to Hula Hut and then to the Ann Richards bridge to see the bats.   Dinner was delicious.  (get the shrimp rellanos) Corey was mad because I wouldn't let him jet ski, even though we don't have a jet ski and we were not in swim suits.  The bats were a bust.   We waited an hour and a half and they never flew away.   It was a fun start to vacation none the less.
