My big girl

Carley is growning before my eyes. I haven't blogged about her much lately, so here is a little update on my little friend.

Carley now wears her hair in a ponytail sometimes. I think it makes her look so big. Her hair is so crazy. I love it and it is always out of control.

We are no longer on the Nuby cups because Carley kept breaking them with her teeth. I think she has grown about 8-9 teeth in the past 6 weeks. They make her look so grown up. She is all Playtex sippy cups stage 3 now.

That girl is Miss Chatty Cathy. I have no idea where she gets it! :) Her favorite new words (aside from "no" which is her most common word) are yellow, blue, heart, sqaure, and oval. She points to these things all the time. She doesn't say or acknowledge circles at all or colors like pink, purple, red, but she LOVES blue things and hearts. It is so cute. I made a list of all the words and animal sounds she saysthat I can remember and it is over 70! Seriously, she is a nonstop talker!

She also wears her sunglasses around the house. She loves them. But she only likes them indoors. (random)

Also. Carley always wants to feed herself with a spoon. She ALWAYS feeds herself left handed. I wonder if she will be left handed. Who am I kidding, she is her Daddy made over so I am sure she will be left handed like him!
Thanks for letting me blog about my little girl. We just love her so much!

Making our New Home

I am a firm believer that if you are not talented, surround yourself with talented people and then buy them Sonic drinks and it is almost like being talented yourself. Cody has done such a good job on our house. My mom has been a LIFESAVER with help at the house and keeping Carley. Carley loved her stint with Papa, Nana, and Daisy and so did I. Thanks so much for letting us live with you for a week! Every time we were all working, this is what Carley did. Apparently she thought she needed more attention. Luckily Nana and Papa were happy to give her whatever she wanted!
Here is a before shot of the kitchen before we bought the house.

Here is the best looking tile man around! They had carpet in the dining are and linoleum in the kitchen. You can see the texture brown paper stuff that my mom did in the kitchen over their fruit wallpaper.
This is what it looks like now.

Our new refrigerator
One of the things that I think about often since motherhood is my grandmothers. None of my grandparents were alive to meet Cody or see us get married or meet Carley. My grandmothers would have loved both Cody and Carley so much. In the kitchen now is my mom's mother's dining room set. It looks so good with the dark brown walls. I LOVE it! And in Granny's beautiful hutch is my dad's mom's china and pitcher. I miss Granny and Grammy so much. It is so neat to have a piece of them to see each day!

The Worst Phone Converstation EVER with Customer Service

I am blogging from my parents house tonight. We are staying here while Cody finishes the floors and we do a few more things. I will blog more about the move later, I am too tired to do it right now. I DO have a story that I deem blogworthy today.

We have had lots of problems getting our phone service moved over. Here are a few excerpts from my phone conversation with the phone customer service rep today.

Rep - Madame Nelson, I cannot verify your new address. Is the state that you are in Dallas or Arkansas? (Clue number one she is not living in the US)

Me - My state is Texas.

Rep - Is Texas close to Houston? (Clue #2)

Me - Houston is a city in our state. I live in Lubbock.

Rep - I cannot find the state Lubbock.

Me - TEXAS is the state, Lubbock is the city.

5 minutes of this banter continue, my frustration level grows.

Rep - What is your zip code?

Me - 794--

Rep - I said Zip Code

Me - 794--

Rep - Madame Nelson, Zip codes have alphabets not numbers.

Me - I need to stop talking to you at this point and speak to someone else.

Rep - No, Madame Nelson, I want to help you.

Me - Help me by letting me speak to someone in my country or in Texas.

Rep - Madame, I work for your phone company.

Me - You are about to work for my FORMER phone company, transfer me to a TEXAN now.

Rep - Okay, Madame Nelson, but first, can I interest you in long distance plans?

Me - I do not want to speak to you any more. Please transfer me.

I still do not have phone service. I am still tired. I am still not sure that out sourcing our customer service is the best idea.

Another Weekly Recap

Man, our life is crazy these days. We are 95% boxed up. It is so crazy living like this. I work all day at work then come home play with Carley, try to heat something up for dinner without pots or pans, then pack until I go to sleep. Cody is either working all day at the station or the new house then he comes home and does the same thing. It has been crazy, but it is so temporary. Anyway, I have been able to squeeze in some TV while packing so I thought I would comment about Heroes, Brothers and Sisters, Lost, The Office, and Grey's this week.

Heroes is so good. It is really based on character development. I have enjoyed this season so much! I think the bomb will go off this week and then Hiro will travel back in time to try and fix it all. Syler is CRAZY! He was so creepy at the end of this past episode standing on the roof when he said, "Boom". Such a good show!

Brothers and Sisters made my cry! I really like this show. I like the way all the siblings interact. This episode with the babies was so good! MAN! And Rob Lowe is still cute by the way!

LOST - HOLY COW! It was something this week. I was so worried about Charlie the whole episode. I have no idea what is up with this show, but I sure do love it! I still think Juliette is bad. I think she will make it look like Kate is pregnant with Sawyer's baby when she really won't be at all. I am totally confused by the new, underwater station with the female guards. My lame guess is that the new station is where Ben sends the ladies who get pregnant. Everyone thinks they die, but they don't. That is why he told Juliette there was an accident and it was flooded. Ben doesn't want people to know.

The Office - SO good! The Ryan twist was awesome! The Temp becomes the boss! NICE! The "enhancements" on Jan were really funny too. My favorite part of course was the end. Jim and Pam are AWESOME!

Grey's - Grey's did keep me guessing tonight. I thought it was really good. There is a lot to talk about so I will just hit my highlights. The scenes with Richard and Adelle were great. How sweet. Interesting that Callie got chosen as Chief Resident. It makes sense too though. I have NO idea what will happen to George now. I did not expect him to be the one not to pass the intern exam. Do you think he will stay or go? Burke and Christina were sad tonight and you saw that coming. I thought Sandra Oh did a good job of acting at the end of the episode in the apartment. I liked Alex and Ava. I don't think we have seen the end of them at all. Derek was SO McDreamy when he went to the locker room and laid it out on the line. I still don't know what will happen with him and Meredith. Although, I do not think he will hook up with the girl from the bar, who happened to be a new intern, who happened to be......... MEREDITH'S SISTER! WOW! I was not expecting that at all. WOW! Nice twist. And then I love that the Chief is still the Chief. I think that was the right choice. Who knows what next year will hold.

Next time I blog it will be about something more substantial. Hopefully we will finish moving and I can blog from my new home. :)

What do I write about every Thursday?

Well, it is Thursday at 9:00 pm so I guess I will do my thing and blog. Sorry I am not blogging more these days or blogging about anything important. We closed on our house and are moving next weekend so I am packing 24-7. Carley is awesome, but is very busy and demanding these days. Work is good. I have May Fever, TAKS Scores are in, and I spend half of my work day in interviews for new teachers so I am always behind on paper work. Cody is doing awesome work at the new house. I will post pictures soon, but he laid the tile for our hallway bathroom yesterday and put wood floors down in the entry way today. My husband is so talented.

Now back to meaningless, but enjoyable TV. The Office was classic humor. I loved it. I thought it was hysterical. Andy floating away, Michael singing, Dwight vs. Voldemort, Pam speaking her mind, and Stanley in general made the show AWESOME!

Grey's was good tonight. Thatcher Grey was ridiculous. That was too much. Meredith freezing in her intern exam was really sad to me. The scenes between Meredith and Richard were good. You can tell he loves her as a father. It was sweet. Also, I bet Adelle makes him a father as well.

Interesting stuff with Chief Resident and Chief of Surgery stuff. Who are your predictions? Do you think it will be Callie or Bailey? I definitely think Addison will not be Chief. That is really the only direction for Mark's character to go, so my bet is on him unless they come up with a story line for him.

Derek was weird this episode. He is still hot and McDreamy-ish though. I don't understand him and Meredith at all right now. They are both being so distant. What happened to the flirty elevator couple that I fell in love with in Season 1?

Do you think the wedding will happen? I think Christina will have cold feet through the entire episode then Burke will call it off. I think there will be awkward moments for the Maid Of Honor and Best Man as well.

I like Callie. I know I am one of the only ones, but I think she is a great character. She is really starting to grow on me. I want George to want her again. Izzie and George are killing me with the intense stares and dark thoughts. Those two need to stay away from each other and stop whispering. I am glad Meredith finally brought up Denny tonight. I LOVED Denny. I loved the Izzie that was with him too.

Now for Alex and Ava. This is my prediction. I think Ava's husband will show up next week, Alex will realize the husband is not right for Ava, and then I think Ava and Alex will kiss. Maybe I am too much drama. Another prediction is the husband comes, Alex opens up about his past and inspires Ava to give her hubby another chance. Thoughts?

That is all I have right now. I do love this show though.

This Week's Grey's Gossip

So the two hour episode was not as dramatic I was expecting. It was....interesting though.

So Addison's spin off stuff wasn't what I was expecting. First, everyone seems really old. Now I like the Tim Daly and Taye Diggs. I did NOT like the "I am going to kiss you with tongue" comment. Seriously? I also do not think the surfer receptionist is hot. I kind of think the voice in the elevator is funny though. The acupuncture was a little much for me too. I liked the chemistry between Addison and Tim Daly, but it reminded me too much of McDreamy. It was okay though. I am not sure what I think about it all, what about you?

Shame on Izzie and George. The look so dramatically tortured. Callie is stupid if she can't see what is going on. I am not sure who I am rooting for in this triangle.

Meredith, Meredith, Meredith. Some of you do not like Meredith (shout out to my sister), but I really liked her this episode. I think she is trying to be better and I think she sees the downfalls in her character and wants to fix them. It was sweet when she was trying to work things out with Thatcher and with Derek. I was very hopeful, until the end. SHAME ON THATCHER! You can tell that set her back emotionally. Derek is so confused about her (which I understand, she didn't swim) which lets me know they will be over in the next two episodes.

Alex, what is up with Alex? I so want to know his past and I wonder if it will ever surface. He is one of my favorite characters now. The stuff with Ava is interesting. I wonder how that will all play out.

And then Preston, Christina, and moms were tough for me. They are just such a somber couple. In my opinion, they work too hard at this relationship and it makes me tired for them.

So the previous looked good, what are your guesses on the last two episodes? Do you think the spin off will make? Will it be called Addison's Anatomy? (I hope not)

Now, for the other Thursday night TV shows. I usually don't watch Earl, but the Rudy stuff was HILARIOUS tonight. As for the Office, it was hysterical, but I thought it pushed the line a little too much with Michael and the finger through the fly. It was a really funny episode though. What do you think will happen with Jim, Karen, and Pam?

That is my Thursday wrap up. Only one more alarm clock day!
