Family Vacation to Port Aransas

We had a really fun week to tour Texas and hit the beach.  The kids were PUMPED and we had a great time!

We took out time traveling.  We left on Friday night and went to Sweetwater and stayed in a hotel.   Then Saturday we drove into Bee Cave (North Austin) and did a mixer for the Lesters.  We spent the night at their house then Sunday drove to Port Aransas.  We stayed at the Port Royal resort.   Sunday was Father's Day.   We drove into Port A and ate at Kody's and had some Fish and Chips.  Then I cooked most of the other meals we were there.  Staying in a condo was wonderful!   The last night we got upgraded to a 2 bedroom condo and it was AMAZING!
We taught the kids to play Go Fish, rested, read books, watched TV, played on the beach, built sandcastles, swam, and spent time together.  Corey had one request the entire trip, to eat gummy worms on the beach.   Carley wanted to build a sand castle.  It was a wonderful, relaxing vacation!  We stayed until Wednesday and then we drove back to Austin and stayed in Round Rock.   We had a famous Round Rock Donut!

LCU Girls Basketball Camp

This Summer Carley was introduced to a new sport, Basketball!  She really liked it!  She learned a lot, worked hard, and had fun.  She made new friends and tried something very new and I was very proud of her.  Coach Gomez has been a friend of our family for a long time and I totally trusted him to take great care of her and he did.   Proud of you, Carley!

Swim Lessons

Corey started Swim Lessons last night.  Carley hopped in and did a lesson too for fun.  I  LOVE SUMMER!!!!   We went to the pool last weekend with Papa and Nana.  I just love the pool!!

Corey Stories

My life these days could be filled with Corey stories.   He says the funniest stuff and does the most outlandish things.  

The kids and I were at Chick Fil A the other night about 6:30.  Carley gave Corey a hand sanitizer packet to clean his hands.  I told them to wash their hands while I bussed the table.  All of a sudden Carley told me to turn around with this horrified look on her face.  Corey was in the middle of Chick Fil A with his shorts and underwear around his ankles using the hand sanitizer wipes to scrub his privates.   I grabbed his and asked what he was doing and he said, "Mom I have to clean so my balls don't stink".  What??  Where did he learn this?   So crazy!

Then we went to Rosas a few days later and Corey asked if he could go outside and play.  There is not a play area or any type of yard there, just a parking lot and no other adults so I said No.  Then a few minutes later he asked if he could go put the Honey Bear away for us.  I told him yes and thank you.  He didn't return promptly so I started looking for him and I saw he had left the restaurant and was playing outside.   I was furious and I went outside to grab him.  I said, "Corey Nelson!  What are you doing?"  And he said, "Mommy told me No, but I told me Yes".   I was livid.  Only Corey would say that.
