Santa Land

Carley was finally feeling better so we took the kids to Santaland with Nana and Papa.  It was COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!  But we had a great time.  Carley could tell these were the real Santa and Mrs. Clause and not actors.  They were very wonderful and gentle to our kids and showed definite Santa spirit.  Carley asked for a Barbie Tote and Style Kit and Corey asked for a Captain America doll.  Corey showered us with kisses in line and Carley talked and cuddled with Papa and Nana.   Corey and Cody also got tired in line and took a little rest on eachother.   It was a precious night for our family.

A Holiday Hospital Stay

Our poor Carley got a nasty infection that landed her in the hospital. It came on quick and she was a very sick little girl. She also had a stomach bug at the same time. It was awful. She was admitted on Monday, Dec and released Wednesday the 12th. The infection formed a 10 inch abscess on her hiney as well. They rushed her into surgery a cpl of hours after we were admitted. We have been taking it easy ever since. It was a very scary couple of days. After she was released we were home bound for another 5 days. The following week all she did was go to school and come home. No errands, no gymnastics, no church, nothing! We are so thankful she is better!!

Nutcracker Tea

Carley and I got an impromptu invite to the Nutcracker Tea at the country club. It was such a sweet and girly event! We loved it! Jennifer and Elise had extra tickets. The girls had such a sweet time together. I just live frilly and wholesome entertainment for my girl!!

Wrapping up the Twilight Movies

I loved reading the 4 books in the Twilight series. They really are great! The movies are good, but never as good as the books. We went to the Twilight movie finale on opening night. It was so fun! Loved my sister in laws!!

Ephesians 4:29

A few new books

I finished the Boonsboro Inn trilogy by Nora Roberts.  It was a sweet and easy read.   It did make me nostalgic to live in small town and know the whole community like these sweet books were.

I also read Coming Home by Karen Kingsbury.   I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book.  I had sort of sworn her off , but I really liked this one.   I love finales and there is a lot of peace with how it ended.

I also read the first 4 books in the City of Bones series.  There are 6 books in all.

I have read several little books too.  I just love reading and literature.  No matter how cheesy, no matter how  small, no matter how complicated.  It is always worth it get lost in a book.

Get off my blog and go pick up a book!

Carley's Ears are Pierced!

What a fun surprise!  For months Carley has been asking that her ears be pierced for her birthday present when she turns 7.  We agreed and she has been anxiously awaiting for December 28th.  Cody and I know that she freaks out and panics over everything and I mean EVERYTHING so we knew when it was time, we would surprise her.   Today she thought she was showing the December birthstone earrings to Nana but instead we had arranged to get her ears done!   The hilarious part was all the way to the mall she was begging to get them pierced today, but I kept telling her it wasn't her birthday.   When we were in the store, Cody and I told her we were doing it today and she FREAKED!  She started crying and saying she wasn't 7 yet.   But As soon as Cody started talking to her and when we grabbed a Justin Bieber poster to hold she calmed down and was anxious but ready.   Cody held her hands and she hugged the Beebs pillow and her ears were done in a snap.  She didn't cry at all after and she loves them.   I am so glad we surprised her today.  Plus we leave for Disney in 6 weeks and 2 days so now we don't have to worry about solution or anything.   Also since there were so many tears beforehand we acutally had to buy the Justin Bieber pillow.  Carley is a stinker, but we love her to pieces and she comes by it honestly!

So now my Sparkle has Sparkles in her ears.  Happy EARLY Birthday, baby!
