No training wheels!

Look at this guy!   No Training Wheels and off to take on the world!   He is so cute in his spikey helmet and green bike!   One funny thing about Corey is he does not like to disappoint men.   Corey was scared to take off and ride.   Cody was letting him ride in the cul de sac street to give him lots of room and eliminate some of the obstacles like mail boxes.   All of a sudden this random guy who none of us knew, rolled his truck window down and said, "Man, I sure would like to see you ride to the end of the cul-de-sac and back."   Corey looked up at this stranger, gave him a thumbs up, and said, "No problem".  Then he hopped on his bike and did it!   Cody was stunned!   That sums up our Corey in so many ways!   Proud of you, buddy!

Nana's Hip Surgery

Our sweet Nana had hip surgery the Thursday of Spring Break.   It was a painful surgery with a hard recovery.  It was hard on my parents and hard on all of us.   Instead of going home after the 3 days in the hospital, she went to a rehab center for 2 more weeks.   It was hard to see our sweet Nana hurt.  And it was hard to see my parents live apart for 2 weeks.   They hated it.   And it was hard for Nana not to drive for 2 months.   But now she is feeling SO much better!   We sure love Sandy Core and are so thankful she is ours!

Frenship Youth Basketball - STARS

Carley had an awesome season with FYB and the STARS.  Her team one first in the league and 2nd in the tournament.  It was a sweet group of 3rd and 4th grade girls.  Coach Autrey was serious business and he did a great job with the girls.   Carley improved and really did better in defense and in rebounds.   She is still gaining confidence and drive in other areas.  It was a lot of fun to watch her play!

Seeing Green

These cuties were dressed alike in their St. Patty's day green.   I think they are both looking so grown up these days.   I just love them to pieces.   I also love that they get excited about holidays.  I made green pancakes today and you would have thought it was gourmet!

Carley's Patriotic Assembly

Carley had an adorable patriotic assembly with the other 3rd graders.   It was so cute.  It is hard to beat 3rd graders, flags, and Lee Greenwood songs.   Also my Carley-girl had a speaking line.   She sure is a brave little girl and I am so proud of her!

Class Pictures

These are the kids' class pictures from this year.  I love their new friends and the sweet faces that were in the classes this year.

Carley has learned that new friends are often a great blessing and can give your more options of people to hang out with each day.   She also learned that some times girls are your friends and the next day they aren't as nice.   It can come in waves but there are always nice friends to find.   And she also learned that some of your most fun friends might be boys because they are not moody.  :)

Corey has learned that some times friends do not look like you.  They may be girls, they have have different colored skin, and even sometimes they have different abilities.  But kids of every kind love to laugh and love to have fun and all they need is a ring leader.   Corey loves being the ring leader.

On the first day of school Carley said, "I hope the teacher likes me and my class is nice,"   On the first day of school Corey said, "I hope my teacher and friends think I am funny."  That really sums up the differences in my kids.

Glasses

This handsome 5 year old got glasses.  He is totally cute and I love the way he looks!  He only needs them when he is reading or in an academic setting.  So far he liked them "ok" and will wear them "some". :)

Valentines 2015

We gave these cuties each a book and a Lego for Valentines.  They were so cute and excited.  I love my little readers and lego builders.

On a side note I love that Corey calls the instructions in a lego box "Constructions".   He always says, "Dad. go get the constructions and let's do this".  I just love it.

My Little Song Leader

This actually happened last Summer (7-2014), but I am not sure I blogged about it.  I wanted to go back and add it just in case.

Corey's bible class teacher has been Mr. David Roach.   Corey loves him.  David is also our song leader once a month.   David knew Corey loved to sing Bless the Lord Oh My Soul, so he asked Corey to lead with him.  Corey was brave and went up there.  He did get very shy, but still did a good job.  It was precious.  Sadly I was home with foot surgery (hence the reason I didn't blog it) but I got to watch it on the computer.

January 2015

2015 started off busy, busy!   We have been chasing kids and surviving the craziness of kids and schools.   One Sunday morning these kids just looked so adorable and I just had to take some pictures.   That afternoon they made another fort in the living room to watch TV.   I think they are pretty sweet little faces!

Carley's Art Project

Carley did an art submission on "The World Would be A Better Place If".   She worked really hard on it and said "The world would be a better place it everyone had a loving family".   I was really proud of how seriously she took the project and how proud she was of her work.   She didn't win the contest, but she did a really good job.

New Year's Ice and Snow

2014 ended with days of snow and ice.   In fact we were going to have a New Year's party at our house and instead had to cancel.   We had snow ball fights, light saber fights, built forts, played with Legos, watched TV,  went to the movies (4 actually Annie, Big Hero 6, Penguins of Madagascar, and Night at the Museum 3).   We were all a little snow stir crazy with 2 weeks of mostly being home, but enjoyed the relaxing and resting.   It was a fun end to a great year!
