I have a new obsession that I have to share, have you heard of the Neti Pot? Right before break one of my friends was saying that her three kids has been incredibly healthy in 2008. I asked her why and she told me about the Neti Pot.
Basically it is a small plastic pot that kind of looks like a genie lamp. You place 1 cup of warm water and one of the packets of saline and mix it. Then (are you ready for this) you put the Neti Pot spout next to one nostril, tilt your head to the side and let the water run up one side
and out the other. It sounds so gross and painful, but it is awesome! I am addicted. It is a ton better than nose spray and doesn't dry out your nose. Seriously, you have to try it. I think I got the pot and 50 saline packets for about $15.00I have talked almost all of my family into and they have liked it. Even Oprah and Dr. Oz recommend it!
So I am curious....have you tried it? Any other remedies out there for winter weather?

YES! I have tried it. Not my favorite. Helps greatly, but makes me gag the whole time! I probably do it wrong. Looking forward to seeing you!
Oh, yes--ever since we have moved to Lubbock our allergies have been terrible! The neti pot has become my new BFF! Yeah, sad I know.
Chris uses the NeilMed, made by the same people. He likes it too. It washes out all that weird stuff from NYC and the theater :) I would NEVER be able to do it though. It would probably make me puke! I can't watch Chris do it either because I gag.
Jeremy uses it daily and I use it frequently. I hate the process....but love the results. It's one of the only things that keeps me clear! I don't think it's a miracle thing like the lady on Oprah claimed, but it's good. The only other "winter" thing that I love is Vicks vapor rub on my feet!
Yes - I have a Neti Pot. I love the end result - feels great! But, I feel like I am drowning when I am using it! I do confess that I am quite dramatic with getting water in my nose when I am swimming, so my experience/feelings are probably a little over-the-top:)
We are also users of the Netipot. Jonathan uses his almost daily and it has been a lifesaver for him. I use it once in awhile. How does your friend get her kids to do it? I would love for E to try it, but I don't think a two year old would understand! But she needs it that's for sure.
Cody Paty LOVES his NetiPot! I personally do not love watching Cody Paty love his NetiPot, but as long as he feels better, that's all that matters. :)
Jeff uses it. I have to be in a separate part of the house because it makes me gag. I don't think I could do it myself. But, Jeff says it provides great benefits.
Brian keeps one in the shower for regular use. :)
Not sure if Kevin will care that I share this, but he LOVES his! He thinks it helps a lot.
In other news, your sis just brought me a notebook from Mrs. Claus. I can't wait to start reading!
I did love it... however thank you for not telling everyone that I totally freaked out and got claustrophobic. I think I will have to be completely sedated to do it again.

I wish I loved it... used it for a few weeks before I thankfully gave in and gave up. Hated every minute of using it! Felt like I was drowning, but maybe I used it wrong. Probably, because there is no way what I feel feels great to anyone! OH well... glad you are getting success!
I've wondered about the neti pot. I think I saw it on Oprah one time, but it kinda freaks me out. Where do you find them?

I LOVE my Neti Pot! When I was pregnant with Avery I had the worst sinus infections...ongoing. I started using the Neti Pot and it was amazing (and a little disgusting) the stuff that came out! I can't say it feels great...but it wasn't bad. It was worth the relief!
