10 years. 10 years of being married to Cody. 10 years of loving and learning, fighting and forgiving, patience and praying, kids and craziness, laughter and living. 10 years of me being too messy and him being too clean. 10 years of me in fast forward and Cody is slow motion. 10 years of me thinking and Cody working. 10 years of me planning and Cody surprising. 10 years of navigating life.
Since this blog is really for my kids, I want to take this opportunity to tell you how much I love your Dad. In many ways, we are opposites. But we are similar in many ways too. Your dad is the best man I know. He is a helper and a hard worker. He is calm in the storm. He is solid, he is even, his is faithful, he is stable. His life has been hard. His trust has been shaken. He has had to be self reliant.
Then God saw more than we are as individuals. I truly believe He saw a plan for us together. Noone is more fun for me than your dad. Noone is more loving than your dad. There is no one I want to live life with and be in love with. I hope we end life with a beautiful, non eventful love story. No drama. No big moments, just a life well lived and a person well loved.
For out 10 year we went to Santa Fe for a few days. We shopped, we ate , we strolled, we laughed, we napped, we hung out. It was wonderful.
We bought a piece of art that said
“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.”
