Our Keller Weekend

** this happened 3 weeks ago and I am just now getting around to blogging it! SO behind!**

Basically the Nelson family had not left the city limits of Lubbock since last July! 8 months in Lubbock was wearing on us a little and it was SO great to take a little trip to see Alyssa and her family. It was bday weekend at the O'Rear home. Alyssa and Camryn both have early April bdays. One turned 4 and one turned 35. I will let you guess which was which!

We came in Thursday night after Lauren and Cam were in bed. They were SO excited to find us there the next morning. Lauren had to go to school, so Carley and Cam got to spend a day together. They loved it and played perfectly. Cody and I got to go to Williams-Sonoma which always makes me happy! And I got to go to Lauren's school for her party at the end of the day. It was SO fun to see her little class. She is getting too grown up. The cousins were together constantly, playing and playing for the rest of the weekend. They also loved playing with my parents all weekend too. We had such a wonderful time. Can't wait to see them again in another month or so! Alyssa, Clint, kids mean the world to the Nelsons.

Me and Corey at 7 months

So, yes, I get my kids picture made every month their first year of life. Yes, it is crazy. Yes, it is priceless and precious to me. Yes, each page is $3.99 at JCPenneys and I think they do a great job.

I just think they change SO much each month. These picture show Corey's tooth (now he has 2!), his hilarious hair, and his mobility. I love this little blessing. Even though I HATE getting my own picture made, I am so thankful for these pictures of us cuddling and playing. Each one means so much to me and captures some special memories.

Now, what I am watching

To follow up my exciting "what I read" post, I thought I would go with the ever trivial, "What I Watch on TV"

Sundays - Brothers and Sisters has been SO boring this year, but I thought last week's 2 hour movie was really good! It was the B & S that I love.

Mondays- Chuck - How great was the episode 2 weeks ago? I LOVE Chuck and I love Chuck and Sarah! It is always nice to have some payoff.

Tuesdays - Lost - I am Lost. I have no clue what is going on. There are only a few episodes left and I am okay with that. I just do not want to be disappointed at the end!
Glee- I am a Gleek! Welcome back Glee. It was a fun episode last night. I wish one of the couples would have been in good standing at the end though. Did you see them on Oprah? It was great.
Parenthood - This is one of my new favorite dramas. It is really good. The only thing I don't like is that it shatters my naive world and I don't like to think people live like some of those situations, but I still think it is great. I get teary almost every episode.

Wednesday - Modern Family - Funniest and Best show on TV. If you are not watching it, you need to try 2 episodes and see what you think!

Thursday- Grey's - I still like this show, I don't love it but I like it. It is good TV and I always leave the episode wanting more.
Private Practice- DRAMA! Goodness that show packs the drama, but I do think it is good. It is growing on me. EW.com says that a major character is killed out of NOWHERE on the finale and that it is not any one you would suspect...hmmm.
The Office - I don't love it this season like I usually do, but it is still funny. Mega desk, the baby, the contract between Dwight and Angela, Andy and Erin...it is all funny.

Friday - The Soup - Joel McHale, do not quit this to do Community full time. The Soup is much funnier.

What am I missing? I don't watch Dancing with the Stars or American Idol, but most do. What else is out there?

What I am Reading

I have much more important things to blog about, but I haven't done a book update lately, so I thought I would post a little about that.

This weekend I read "Same Kind of Different As Me" by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. Wow. What an amazing book! If you have not had a chance to read this inspiring story, take the time to do it. It is not a hard read, but the story really makes you think. Does anyone else out there love this book? I read it on the way home from Keller and I cried, I was inspired, and I have not stopped thinking about it.

I also really liked "Sugar Queen" by Sarah Addison Allen. It is a unique and clever story that has some romance, some mystery, and cute chapter titles. I definitely recommend it as a great read.

Also, I read The Trouble with Angels by Debbie Macomber. it is really sweet and an easy read. I do like her books a lot. They are cheesy, but they make me happy :)

Finally I am about to start Take 3 by Karen Kingsbury. It will be cute and cheesy. All her books are, but I think they are good reads and I love me some Karen Kingsbury and some Baxter Family stories!
So what are you reading? Have you read any of these?

Easter Sunday

We had a wonderful Easter! The Easter Bunny brought the kids new baskets. I LOVE them. I think they are SO cute! He brought them each Toy Story Movie, a little book, and then some candy filled eggs. He also brought Carley a jump rope because she has been BEGGING the Easter Bunny to get her one. She doesn't know how to jump rope, so I find this interesting. :) Also she got a cute little "picture me" book called Sparkle Princess. She was SO excited
The sad part was that Cody was at the station so we made sure and drove over so he could see the kids before church.
Then we had a pizza party and Easter egg hunt after church. It was a lot of fun. I don't know why I only have 2 pictures of it! It was busy I guess.
Then my parents came over for dinner that night. We had Cheesy Bacon Meatloaf, Squash Casserole, 7 layer Salad, rolls, cake, and colored deviled eggs. I thought they turned out SO cute!

Easter Parties at School

We have really liked the kids' teachers and experience at school this year. I really can't say enough great stuff about it. If you are looking for daycare in Lubbock, I will give you their info.
Anyway, they had an all out Easter Egg Hunt and party on Thursday. They had to bring candy filled eggs and dyed eggs. It was Carley's first time to dye eggs and she thought it was great. I thought it was overrated. :)
Here she is running around. Also, Baby Brother came to watch her hunt. Of course he was in his bunny outfit. His beautiful and WONDERFUL teacher Ms. Melissa was out there to see her daughter hunt so I got their picture

Also, Nana came and was a huge hit and a huge help.

Carley's First Trip to the Dentist

Carley was SO excited to go to the dentist for the first time. We have been building it up and she thought it was going to be so fun. Her friend, Avery's, Mom works at the office so Carley was excited to see Ms. Jennifer.
When we got there she did great until she saw the dentist chair and then she got shy and scared. The staff was great and they got to look in her mouth and count her teeth. No cavities and everything looks great! Hopefully next time she will be brave enough to let them brush her teeth!!
