A Fun Weekend

We had such a great weekend. Our class went on a retreat and it was WONDERFUL! Everything was just perfect (except we missed some of our friends who couldn't go). Carley stayed with my parents who blissfully spoiled her rotten. Here is a picture from the weekend.

Last night we went to the Halloween Carnival at church. All the kids were TOO CUTE! I decided to try to take a picture of all of them, but I decided after I had already seen Kyler the Carebear, Elmo Kole, and Fireman Hunter so you'll have to look for other blogs for those cuties. My parents came with us.

Baby Taylor and Baby Ryder. So precious!!Candy Corn Drew and Hunter the Lion!Carley the Flower and Humpty Dumpty Charlie
Carley and Charlie's first kiss. I am a little disturbed by this! It just doesn't seem right. I do look forward to the blackmail and embarrassment in years to come!

One important thing and the rest is just catch up

Man, Blogger has not been my friend lately. I have had trouble getting on to post, but now it is happy and so am I.

So here is the latest:

1. Well, George from GA is gay. Maybe that is why I doubt his chemistry with Callie. Who knows. I wonder if they will write it in or something. Currently, GA has no gay characters. I wonder if they will now.

2. Two weekends ago I went on a women's retreat with our church. It was really good. I love spending time with old friends and making new friends. I was really touched by the honesty of the ladies that spoke. It is so nice when women are real and not trying to please. The theme was being a princess so here is a picture of Kristin and I in lovely pipe cleaner crowns. So, note to self, you need to go on the next women's retreat your church offers. Carley and Cody enjoyed the bonding as well.
3. One of my roommates from college, Summer, and her sweet husband and precious baby came through Lubbock this weekend. It was so fun to get to let Ethan and Carley play. No pollenation comments are necessary. It was very challenging to get a picture of these two!

4. My sister and girls came to visit a week ago. We had a blast. Lauren is a RIOT and Camryn is precious. We took the girls to the corn maze and had a blast. My mom has had the pictures on her camera and has not downloaded them yet. So, mom, if you read this, download them so we can post. She made all of the girls these cute scarecrow outfits. Carley is so lucky to grow up with cousins.

5. The is the important thing...this is Breast Cancer Awareness time. As young women, we often don't check ourselves or let our obgyn appointments slide. No one will take care of your prevention and early identification if you don't. A dear friend of mine at work has been battling breast cancer for 4 years. She has beaten it and continues to progress. My precious aunt on my mom's side has been battling ovarian cancer for 3 years. Breast cancer runs on both sides of our family and there have been massectomies on both sides. One of my best friends from jr. high has fought cervical cancer. We all need to be aware and make sure we get checked. So take care of yourself, or I will have to make the appointment for you! :)

Finally, here is the baby with a pumpkin pictures that we, as moms, are obligated to take.

Why I am addicted to Grey's Anatomy

I love this show. I love it for so many reasons. I have to blog about it today because last night's episode was AMAZING!!!!!!!

Here are my thoughts and ideas about the show. I would love to hear what you think.

Okay, let's start with George and Callie. I felt sorry for her in the first 75 % of the episode. Some of you don't like her because she is weird. Being a quirky full figured girl myself, I like her. She wants George to like her the way she likes him and tonight she realized it isn't happening. George is AWESOME! I love George. He is so immature and wishy washy about Callie though. It is weird to me. I love what a great friend he is to Izzy and Meredith and what a great roommate he is as well. He is just a great guy, but he is clearly not ready for what he and Callie have started. And Callie, that girl is clearly frustrated, confused, disappointed, and looking for some emotional charge. I guess she found it at the end of the episode with McSteamy. That was so WRONG! I mean, yuck. Like I said, I felt for her the first 75% of the episode, but when she came on to McSteamy I just rolled my eyes. Gross.

Moving on to Christina and Burke. Their relationship is really interesting to me right now. Both of them are learning about different character traits they have probably never felt before. Poor Burke. He is in an identity crisis. The part about his hands made me sad. I was glad Christina came up with a way to help him. I still wanted her to say something like, " I don't love you because of your hands or your skills as a surgeon" but I guess she can't really say that because her admiration for him is what drew them together. I am interested to see what happens here. However, I would not want Preston to operate on me. And don't you just love the name "Preston Burke".

And now our girl, Izzy. I know she loved Denney. I still think she needs to get back out there though. It is time for her to go back to work. I wonder what she will do with the $8 million dollars though. Can you imagine? WOW! I also think we will see her daughter at some point this season. I just do. Who do you think she will get paired with next, Alex? George? Hmmm, I wonder.

I totally loved Meredith on morphine. One of my favorite things about GA is that it is not predictable. Not at all. First of all, thank goodness she is not pregnant. If she would have been, I would have been disappointed in the writers. When she was loopy, I figured she would confess something to either Derek or Finn and when she woke up, she wouldn't remember and then they would have a secret or something. But, luckily, the show is not predictable. The scene with Addison was GREAT. Addison is really a great character and she showed lots of vulnerability and compassion in this episode. I think she and Alex will hook up at some point. I really loved it when she said, " I am only saying this because I know you won't remember". I thought that was great.

Now for the love triangle. What great twists. McDreamy bows out, Meredith chooses McDreamy, Finn leaves with dignity. What do you think will happen with all of this? I am really curious. Do you think Finn is gone? Do you think McDreamy will get with Meredith? Hmmm, I don't know. All I know is the show surprises me every week.

Finally, I realize that I just completed a really long post on a television show. I understand that this is not real life. I can't help it though, I love it. Seriously.

Family Time and Carley's 9 month picts

This weekend my cousin, Susan, her husband, Mike, and their 2 boys Micah and Andrew came through Lubbock. Carley and I got to eat dinner with them. It was such a great time. Cousins are so special. It is sad that as we get older, we see them less and less. After dinner we went to the fire station to see Cody and let him show off his truck. Both of the boys are really into fire stuff so it was a thrill for them and for Cody. Aren't they cute?

Also, Carley turned 9 months old 2 weeks ago. Here she is in the flower costume she HATES. It is so funny. I am trying to teach her at a young age that women sometimes suffer for fashion. My favorite things Carley does right now is wave and play patty cake. She just randomly claps sometimes and it is so cute. Also, she says is infatuated with our dog, Ali. When Ali walks through Carley starts pointing and screaming "EEEEEEEEEEEEEE" for Ali. It is precious. Here is our little Halloween girl.

Let's Talk TV

Let's Talk TV.

I really like what all is going on right now.

Grey's Anatomy is new tonight. I can't wait. I really like this season. The last few minutes of last week's episode were really good.

I also am really liking 6 degrees and Brothers & Sisters. Anyone else?

Lost was good last night. It was very suspenseful. I am READY to find out what is going on for that show. It is getting ridiculous. Kevin's blog has the good stuff on Lost.

My new favorite show might be Heroes. I really like it. It is smart and creative.

Did you like Friday Night Lights? I thought it started slow but ended good.

What about Studio 60? I am really enjoying the writing and banter. It is a fun show to watch.

Finally, new Shawn on Days is not good. I miss the other one.

Any other thoughts (other than I watch too much TV)?

Also, Carley got her new carseat this weekend while we were in the Metroplex. She loves it!

Okay, read the post below.

A GREAT Weekend

Man, we had a great weekend. Thursday after work, Cody, Carley, and I flew down for Dallas for a birhtday extravaganza! My neice, Lauren Ashley, turned 3 and my mom turned...well, 29. Lauren had a party at Pump It Up, this huge boucehouse place with lots of places for kids to jump and play. Friday night we got to eat with our dear frends, Brian and Tanna. Saturday we drove down to the Fort Worth Stockyards and rode the train and spent the day. We ate lunch at Joe T Gacria's and dinner at Salt Grass. YUMMY! Then Sunday we went to church, had lunch, and came home. I could write about this weekend forever because it was so great. Alyssa and Clint are perfect hosts and my neices are AWESOME. Camryn is the smiliest, sweetest little girl and Lauren is hilarious. She is so stinking smart and talks all the time saying the funniest things. Carley loves them both. Lauren and Carley bathed together at night and Lauren would just laugh and Carley would just stare at her and clap. It was so funny. In church Carley and Camryn held hands and kept talking to eachother. Cousin time is so fun. Here are some pictures. I could have posted a million.

Carley and Cody in one of the bounce houses!

My sweet little niece, Camryn. Just precious!

Carley in bible class at PC. She is sitting next to her good friend Kale. Kale's Mommy, Amy, and Daddy, Brian, are two of the funniest people I know. It was so good to get to see him and his family!
