.....that sums me up today. We found out this morning that someone got a hold of Cody's credit card number and decided to do some online shopping over the weekend. There are so many annoying things about credit card fraud/theft, but the main one for me right now is the head ache of getting it fixed. First of all, both Cody and I have our credit cards, so they had to get the number off of a receipt somewhere or out of the mail. We don't save our passwords or log ins on our computer so it can't be that and we don't do credit card stuff online except at home. We know they only have the number because everything they ordered was online and didn't require the 3 digit number on the back of the card. Secondly, the first thing they did with the card was set up their own pornography website and then do some ordering of filthy movies online. The only good thing about this was I was able to call blockbuster and get the mailing address of the movies. I also was able to call a couple of other charges they made and confirm the same mailing address so I could track them down. I had to spend the morning canceling our cards and all of the things that are automatically charged to our card. I also had to fill our a police report. I do think the detective's office was impressed that I already had an address for the scum bag though. Gosh, I am just so angry about this. It feel so violated. The good news is we caught them quickly and they were not able to buy too much stuff because they didn't have enough of our information. Also, it was good that we were able to fill out a police report about the pornography stuff ourselves because Cody is a city employee and I am an educator. If anything shady went on, it was on record that it wasn't us. It is just scary what this world is coming to. So, go check your statements and make sure you are safe.
I need a nap...

Oh my goodness Ashley...that is crazy!! I am so glad that yall caught on quickly and were able to catch those scum bags!!
I am so fearful of that happening. It is really crazy what people can do these days...
Glad all is working out...but so sorry for the headache!
I am so sorry!!! That is such a pain. You are so on top of things~ I know the police were impressed, they probably will offer you a job. You would be a great investigator! :)
This happened to my parents a few years ago...they think someone stole their mail. It really sucks! I am so sorry that it happened to y'all! Hopefully the stupidity of the people who stole your card will help you recover your money and restore your name and credit line.
Take a long nap!!
That stinks! And what a hassle, good thing you're so on top of it. I hope you get it all sorted out without any credit damage or anything.
OMG, I am soooo sorry. That totally sucks. I can't imagine how violated you must feel. I will pray for you guys. Love you!!!!
Oh no! That's crazy! I know I'm probably not nearly as careful as you are with our info and it's scary how easily that can happen! I hope it all gets resolved quickly. Sorry friend!
So...did this interrupt your Olympics watching??
That is so frustrating! I've been there, but I can't say I was as good a detective as you are. You go girl!!!
What a mess! But, it sounds like you did a great job of handling the situation. I hope it gets resolved quickly!
How terrible. I had my ATM card cloned not too long ago and unfortunately there was no way to track the skunk who did it. It's so frustrating and enraging to have things like that happen. So sorry.
I hope that you got that nap...much deserved! I can't believe that!!! SO horrible! I am impressed that you thought through getting tracking down his address. Hope that things are figured out quickly.
We have SO been there. Someone got our number online too... weird, the credit card company could tell me what site they got it from! No idea how, but it was from BedBathandBeyond when I bought a wedding gift online one time. Anyways, I know how much of a headache this is, and I am SO sorry!!!! (If it helps any, there have been absolutely no issues for us since then with credit reports or anything like that... the companies take care of all of it. So once the headache is over, it should really be over.)
I'm so sorry that has happened! What a creep!
PS - Someone stole my credit card out of my wallet when I was a freshman at ACU when I was in a PE class! It was a very unspecting & highly involved sophomore girl!! She charged a few things from "The Limited" at good 'ole Abilene mall. You never know who does these things!
