Lubbock

I love Lubbock. I can't help it, I do. I also realize what a funny little place it is too. It is quirky in it's conservative West Texas ways and as I get older some of the "Lubbockness" makes me laugh.

Last weekend my nieces were in town and my parents took them and Carley to Prairie Dog town. What is Prairie Dog town, you might ask? It is this natural habitat where hundreds of prairie dogs live. I hadn't been there in at least 15 years so it was funny to go back. Only in Lubbock, only in Lubbock...

Here are some pictures of the PD town adventure.

I realize many of you bloggers don't know, but my blogger question is: What is your favorite thing about Lubbock or what makes you laugh about Lubbock the most?

My favorite thing about Lubbock is that my wonderful family lives there. They are the best and I love coming to Lubbock to see them. I also love Lubbock for Tech sports. I actually don't think I have ever been to PD town.

PD town cracks me up. When I was little, I remembered it being this huge place with lots and lots of PD's. We went last year and I was dissapointed! Where did it all go?!

I love Lubbock in so many ways! That almost everything is no more than 10 min. away. Not a lot of traffic, slower place, people are friendly, just a great place! And I love my neighborhood! Especially the neighbors we share an alley with! :)I could go on and on.

Let's see...I love the cotton fields when they are ready to be harvested...the white stretch of land is beautiful. I have many fond memories of Lubbock like family, friends (my oldest friend), Monterey HS and Texas Tech. I miss it alot. What cracks me up are the news stations. They are just funny!!!!!

I LOVE PD town. I wonder how many field trips I took out there and to the Ranching Heritage Center growing up... probably too many to count! Did you know Abilene has it's own version of PD town in rosebud park? But it's not quite the same! And lubbock is great. Right now I would love me some Pei Wei, so it's my favorite thing for the moment!

I love the summer evenings and the lack of traffic. I need to take the kids to PD town. We haven't done that yet.

My favorite thing about Lubbock is that the city is layed out by pre-design and is very easy to get around with it's alphabetical and numerical streets. For a directionally challenged person like myself, this is wonderful!

I have also been to Prairie Dog Town about 20 years ago. My sister and I both got golden prairie dog charm bracelets as souveniers. I'll bet they are still in my parent's house somewhere.
