Snow Days

A cold weather storm hit Friday night and the kids and I have been iced/snowed in.   Church was even cancelled today.   We have cleaned the house from top to bottom, done all the laundry, watched movies, played, eaten, cooked, cuddled, napped, read, done crafts, and gone a little stir crazy.  :)   It has been wonderful.  The only bad thing is that Cody worked Friday night and Saturday and then left this morning (Sunday) for an EMS conference in Fort Worth.   I sure wish he was here to enjoy the day with us.

Thanksgiving feast

Nana and I were able to join Carley for her Thanksgiving feast.  She was so cute and loved every bit of the food!!  Granny's funeral service was on the day of Corey's feast so we did not attend his. I am very thankful for both kids schools and teachers.

UIL

Carley competed in the UIL Creative Writing competition on Monday. She placed 2nd out of 18. I am so proud of her!!  She worked really hard.  For her hard work she got dangle earrings (aka hang downs) which she has been asking for. Good job!!

Granny

Cody's sweet granny passed away on Saturday of last week and her funeral was Wednesday.   She was the epitome of kindness and gentleness and Cody loved her very much.   She always had a twinkle in her eye and a smile when he came to see her.  Even after her 4th stroke she would light up when he came around.

If Corey would have been a girl, we would have named him Corie Ann after her and his name would have been a double name so that Corie Ann is what everyone one have called her.    This has been a very tough week for Cody and the entire family.

Thanksgiving Program

The 2nd grade had the cutest Thanksgiving program.  I could not get one good photo of my beautiful girl but she did a great a job.   It was standing room only and there were lots of cute construction paper feathers blocking the way.   The kids did a great job and Carley was really proud.  She has such a beautiful voice.  I hope she sings forever!

Stretch N Grow Cheer

Carley did Stretch N Grow Cheer again this fall.  She loves it and has a great time with her friends.   She worked hard this fall and was so excited to cheer at the Tiger Bowl for the YFL teams.   She was really cute and funny out there.  We are sure proud of our girl!

Mom

Corey surprised me by writing my name on the back of his paper at school.  He said he was missing me so he wrote it.   That boy melts my heart.   He is smart as a whip and a boundless bundle of energy.   He got croup for a week and was sick.   It broke my heart to have him slow down, but I did love the extra cuddles.   He is something special.

Carley's party

I loved getting to go to her afternoon fall party.   She is just a joy.

Happy Halloween 2013

It was a Marvel vs. DC comics Halloween.  We had a great time and loved the fall festival at Carley's school, the Trunk or Treat at Broadway, and trick or treating in our neighborhood.   Cody was quite the Hulk and was a great asset to Captain America and Wonder Woman.

Fall Cuties

Sometimes their beauty stops me in my tracks

Pumpkinstein

Carley really wanted to enter a Frankenstein pumpkin into the contest at school.   I had no idea how to help so she and and her creative and talented Daddy got to work.   Carley was so happy and so proud of the pumpkin.  So was Cody.  ;)

Floydada Punkin Festival

We went with Nana and Papa to the Floydada Punkin Festival (I wish it was Pumpkin, but sadly it isn't)

It as a sweet and fun day spent with my favorite parents and kids.   The kids got their face painted and Corey even made the Plainview paper.   Then we went to the cemetery and exchanged the flowers on my aunt and uncle and grandparent's graves then went to the farm.   Going back to the farm is such mixed emotions.  It makes me happy to celebrate the awesome the awesome memories and special people that made that time so great.  It is sad to see it change and to miss them so much.
