We planned a fun little road trip to Amarillo last Sunday as a pre Fathers Day trip. The guys didn't know where we were going, but I think they had a pretty good idea.
The first clue was "Hey Dad, you're a real cool dude. Let's go eat some Mexican food. We are not trying to fool ya. Let's eat in the town of ??" Cody loves the El Camino restaurant in Tulia, TX. The food was DELICIOUS!
The second clue was "Hey Papa, You're our best fellow. We are spending the night in a town that means yellow". We headed to the Drury in Amarillo and swam a little.
Then the third clue was "Hey guys, it's almost time to go. Let's head down to Canyon and see a great show. They'll be lots to see and lot's to do. We even have a dinner or BBQ". We went to the musical Texas. It was great overcast weather and the food and show were really good! The only sad part was that Corey's lunch was not setting well and he kept saying he needed to throw up and that his brain hurt. He sure was not himself at all. After dinner the kids and I walked around in the canyon a little.
After the show, Corey threw up 4 different times through the night. The next morning he felt a lot better and we went to our 4th clue. "Monkey See, Monkey Do, Let's all go to the zoo" and we walked around the Amarillo zoo for a little while. It was fun and the kids loved it. It was also good that Nana was feeling better after her hip surgery.
